​After more than 30 days in Osaka, Japan to fulfil the invitation as the Imam of the Sunat Tarawih Prayer at the Japan Da'wah Center, Osaka, throughout Ramadhan, the country's Al-Hafiz, Awang Muhammad Ekram 'Afif bin Haji Awang Mohd Hanafi, an alumni of Ma'had Qiraat Shoubra, Al-Azhar University, returned home on 26th March afternoon.

The initiative to send Al-Hafiz from Brunei Darussalam was an effort of the MABIMS Centre for Al-Qur'an Studies and Dissemination, Ministry of Religious Affairs, in collaboration with the IQRA' Centre for Ummah, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, and the Japan Da'wah Centre in Osaka. Awang Muhammad Ekram 'Afif together with 11 other huffaz from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia led Tarawih prayers at several mosques and religious halls around the City of Osaka.
